Abstracts

 

IMPORTANT:

  • Only enrolled doctors or medical students can send and present papers at the Brazilian Congress;
  • If the paper is accepted, the presenter must be enrolled in the event;
  • The papers may not be published or even submitted for publication in any other scientific journal;
  • The veracity and accuracy of the data will be the sole responsibility of the author who sent the paper;
  • The BJORL Magazine, the official publication of ABORL-CCF, has priority in the publication of the award-winning free themes, which will automatically be submitted to BJORL in full, and should be re-evaluated by the editorial board for possible revisions;
  • The papers submitted will be analyzed by the Scientific Papers Committee regarding scientific quality and compliance with the stipulated submission rules. Both reasons may justify exclusion of the works;
  • Posters submitted will be reviewed and may have the classification changed;
  • If none of the authors can submit the accepted work, they must contact the organizing committee to exclude the work within 10 days from the notification of acceptance, through the contacts: camila@ccmew.com or telephone (55 51 ) 3086-9109. The non-cancellation or non-submission of approved papers will imply the suspension of participation with scientific papers at the next Brazilian Congress of Otorhinolaryngology and Cervical-Facial Surgery of the author responsible for sending the abstract.

    • Accepted papers must be presented at a date and time established by the organizing committee, with no changes allowed;
    • Certificates will be available for download and printing within 30 (thirty) days after the end of the event.
    • Only papers presented and evaluated by a specific board will be published in the annals of the congress.

     

    GUIDELINES:

    a. The deadline for submissions will be 28/07/2017, until 5:00 p.m. (Brasília time). NOT EXTENSIVE;
    b. Work submitted after the deadline will not be accepted under any circumstances;
    c. The list of approved papers will be published on 15/09/2017;
    d. The papers must be submitted in Portuguese or English;
    e. The authors limit is defined as follows:

    Free Theme (oral presentation) - Maximum limit will be eight authors, except in cases of multiprofessional papers. If the study requires the inclusion of more than eight authors, please contact us at camila@ccmew.com or telephone (55 51) 3086-9109.
    Pôster - (post with presentation) - Maximum limit will be eight authors.
    Pôster - case report - (just post) - Maximum limit will be seven authors.

    f. At the time of submission, the author responsible for the submission of papers must choose between the three forms of presentation, as mentioned above.


    RULES AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR EACH CATEGORY:

    FREE THEME

    Submission of the abstract containing 300 words (excluding title and authors), in addition to the full study, both structured in: Objectives, Methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusion. The paper in full will have no words limit and may include images, figures and graphics when necessary.

    For the full work, the submission system will receive up to 10 images per article:
    • Minimum width 1000 pixels;
    • Resolution of at least 300 dpi;
    • Maximum size of each image 2 Mb.
    Up to 5 keywords in English or Portuguese should be included in the abstract in alphabetical order.

    It is recommended to submit in the FREE THEME category "Oral Presentation", studies that involve:
    • Innovation in the area;
    • Translational Studies;
    • Meta-Analysis studies;
    • Experimental and Basic Area Studies;
    • Cohort Studies;
    • Case-control studies.
    • Controlled clinical trials

    Papers forwarded as FREE THEME "oral presentation" should be classified by the sending author as belonging to one of the following subareas:


    » Bucopharyngology and sleep medicine
    » Basic Sciences and Translational Studies
    » Head and Neck Surgery
    » Facial aesthetics
    » Phoniatrics
    » Laryngology and Voice
    » Otology / middle and posterior skull base
    » Otoneurology
    » Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology
    » Other: (examples: civil liability, work medicine, behavioral medicine, management, training and teaching, etc.)
    » Rhinology / anterior skull base

     

    Papers submitted as FREE THEME "oral presentation" will be evaluated by the Papers Committee and may, depending on the judgment, be allocated in the form of presentation as poster.

     

    PÔSTER

    It is recommended to submit in the poster format, works that involve:

    • Case reports;
    • Series of cases;
    • Survey of medical records;
    • Partial results;
    • Small casuistry
    • Description of surgical technique.
    • Assistematic Review
    • Service experience

    The works submitted as posters, in turn, should be classified in:
    - Poster (Post with presentation)
    - Poster Case Report (just post)


    Papers sent as posters should be sent only abstracts containing no more than 300 words. Up to 5 keywords in Portuguese or English should be included in the abstract in alphabetical order. Pictures, pictures or graphics may not be attached.
    The poster summaries -(Post with presentation) should be structured in: Objectives, Methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusion. Bibliographical references should not be included.
    The poster summaries - case reports (just post) - should be structured in: Case Presentation, Discussion and Final Comments. Bibliographical references should not be included.
    Considering that case reports make an important contribution to the exchange of experience among practitioners, the Commission recommends that only reports of common cases with atypical progress or of very rare cases, which have an important relevance to otorhinolaryngological practice, be sent.
    Papers submitted as poster should be classified by the author as belonging to one of the following sub-areas:

Event Venue

Centrosul Convention Center

Fully air-conditioned with a postcard landscape, it is strategically located downtown, near the bus terminal, airport and the wide hotel network with more than 18 thousand beds. It currently has 16,560 square meters of built area, divided into two floors, with modular rooms to accommodate up to 3,500 people comfortably seated and two exhibition halls for up to 13,000 people.
